Super-Long Cavity, Monolithically Integrated 1-GHz Hybrid Mode-Locked InP Laser for All-Optical Sampling
High repetition rate (10-50GHz) semiconductor mode-locked lasers (MLL) provide excellent performance in terms of stable output and high optical power and they are commonly investigated for optical frequency comb generation and optical code division multiple access (O-CDMA) networks [1, 2]. However, there have been few studies of monolithically integrated low frequency (< 2-GHz) semiconductor ML...
متن کاملFirst Demonstration of both Analog and Digital Wavelength Conversion using a Monolithically-Integrated InP Widely Tunable All-Optical Wavelength Converter (TAO-WC)
about the device design and fabrication process can be found in [1,2,7]. Abstract: The first demonstration of both analog and digital wavelength conversion using an InP monolithicallyintegrated widely-tunable wavelength converter is reported. The SFDR was measured to be better than 82.7 dB-Hz and a BER of better than 10 at 2.5Gbps over a wide wavelength range (50nm input, 22nm output) with a po...
متن کاملNew All-optical Wavelength Auto-router Based on Multibranch Waveguides
A new optical device for wavelength auto-router was proposed. Such a structure is useful in the integratedoptic for optical operation and data communication. We use the finite-difference beam propagation method to investigate the phenomenon of the proposed numerical model.
متن کاملDemonstration of Monolithically-Integrated InP Widely-Tunable Laser and SOA-MZI Wavelength Converter
The first monolithically integrated widely tunable wavelength converter, consisting of a Sampled-Grating Distributed-Bragg-Reflector laser and a semiconductor optical amplifier-based Mach-Zehnder interferometer, is reported. Static extinction ratios better than 19dB and 13 dB using electrical and optical control, respectively, were measured over a 22nm laser wavelength range.
متن کاملAll-optical Switching of 80 Gb/s Data Packets using a Wavelength Converter and a Monolithically Integrated Optical Flip-flop
We demonstrate that 80 Gb/s data-packets can be all-optically switched into two different ports employing an optical wavelength converter controlled by a monolithically integrated optical flip-flop memory. The optical wavelength converter consists of a semiconductor optical amplifier and an optical filter. The integrated optical flip-flop exhibits single-mode operation, has 35 dB contrast ratio...
